Our Mission
Elkae Resource Group, LLC exists to empower individuals and communities; especially those underserved or overlooked, to heal, grow, and thrive by offering culturally responsive, trauma-informed services that address emotional wellness, life transitions, and access to supportive resources. Through programs like Rage Release, we meet people where they are and help them break through anger, stress, and systemic barriers with dignity and strength.
Vision Statement
To be a leading force in reshaping mental health access and emotional healing by creating safe, liberating spaces where people can release pain, build resilience, and reclaim control over their lives.
Founder Story
“Be who you needed when you were younger.”
A simple, social media meme was just a scroll-stopping quote on the screen, but it hit like a wave. It landed on a man who had lived through a thousand unspoken storms, battled silent anger, and survived with the kind of strength that doesn't show up in textbooks. That man is me.
My name is Lemitchel King, and I am the founder and CEO of Elkae Resource Group, LLC and Rage Release by Elkae Resource Group. I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate, a trained therapist-in-the-making, and a man who has navigated life with the weight of generational trauma, resilience, and a calling to heal that started with myself.
For years, I carried anger like armor. It protected me, but it also isolated me. I saw how rage showed up in my community, in boys told to “man up,” in men who had never been given the tools to process grief, fear, or pain. I also saw how systems failed us by labeling us, incarcerating us, misdiagnosing us, but rarely healing us. That is the root of my “why.”
My journey into social work didn’t begin in a classroom, it began in the mirror. It began in reflections of childhood moments where I wished someone had just asked me, “What’s wrong?” instead of saying, “Fix your face.” It grew in my adult years, as I watched those around me suffer silently strong but breaking.
When I started my MSW journey, it wasn’t to chase a title. It was a commitment to becoming the person I needed back then. The meme wasn’t just a quote. It was my mission.
Elkae Resource Group was born from this mission; a culturally affirming agency created to provide therapeutic support, community-centered healing, and access to real mental wellness tools for black and brown individuals, families, and professionals.
But it was Rage Release by Elkae (pronounced “LK”) Resource Group that brought something radical to the table. I knew from both research and experience that traditional talk therapy wasn’t enough for some of us, not at first. Sometimes the words don’t come until the pain is released. Rage rooms gave that release an emotionally safe, trauma-informed space to feel without judgment. To break. To cry. To reset. Rage Release became the bridge between physical release and emotional clarity. And from that space, the real healing work begins.
Today, I carry my story into every room I enter, not as a finished product, but as a living example of what healing looks like when it’s rooted in truth, culture, and community. I started this agency not just to offer counseling but to redefine what therapeutic space can look like - loud, messy, honest, scared.
We don’t just serve clients. We create healing experiences. We build relationships. We teach emotional literacy. We give our people the tools we were never given.
Because healing doesn’t have to look quiet. Sometimes healing looks like breaking plates, so you don’t break yourself.
And that’s why I’m here.
Values
Trauma-informed care. Community empowerment. Mental wellness equity.
